Community Engagement and Communications Officer

Stroud, Gloucestershire

Description:  1 year – full time, (job share may be considered)
Responsible to:   Operations Lead, Timebanking UK

Timebanking UK is a national charity providing the advice, training and resources that time banks need to flourish, engage and involve local people across the UK and beyond. Through our member time banks, we aim to create mutual social and practical support networks that make people feel safer, happier and healthier.

Job Role:
In this exciting new role within the organisation, you will manage a variety of projects and work to improve communications between our time bank network and our stakeholders and supporters, helping us to reach a wider audience thorough effective social media and innovative marketing. 

You will oversee the planning and development of specific projects and funded programmes, working with the staff team and time banks to achieve specific targets and collating succinct information into reports for the funders.

Being able to show the positive impact of our organisation and of timebanking in general is extremely important to Timebanking UK, so experience in generating reports and providing convincing evidence would be a huge advantage in this role.

As a conduit between Timebanking UK and our member time banks, you will develop and implement an effective communications strategy and data management system. A track record of producing innovative marketing ideas and experience with a range of social media will be vital in developing our strategy of raising our national profile.

You will be required to represent Timebanking UK at meetings and national events, and would also be welcome to assist with generating new funding opportunities and income streams.

Main Responsibilities
• Managing and monitoring a variety of projects and funded programmes.
• Developing and implementing an innovative communications strategy
• Driving our social media and marketing campaigns
• Implementing and managing a data management system for TBUK
• Working in accordance with TBUK’s principles, policies and procedures

Person Specification

• Experience of project management and report writing
• Ability to work within a small team together with the confidence to work alone and be self-motivated
• Knowledge of digital marketing and using social media
• Ability to motivate and communicate with people at all levels
• Creativity to develop new ideas and generate engaging content for social media and other communication channels
• Understanding and experience of implementing data management systems
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritise and co-ordinate under pressure

• Experience of establishing and developing innovative programmes that deliver positive outcomes for people and communities
• Understanding of timebanking and other asset-based approaches
• Experience of developing innovative fundraising methods
