PCN Data Quality Support Manager


Job overview

A position has arisen within our Primary Care Network fora Data Quality Support Manager. We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable person, passionate about the opportunities to improve our Network’s health through the application of technology and utilisation of data.

Main duties of the job/summary

You will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of our Data Quality Improvement projects.  This will include supporting practices in the network to input, interpret and utilise Population health management data effectively.  Reviewing the data and working with practices to implement systems to hit our Impact and Investment indicator targets. 

You will also support the set-up and ongoing support for our PCN-wide intranet solution (AgilioTeamNet) and be a super user to support training of staff and identify internal ongoing IT lead/leads for our PCN so that this work can be sustained going forward.  You will represent the network at CCG IT leads meetings, enabling the Network todeliver its Digital vision. You will analyse data held by the Practice and pertaining to the running of the Practice’s business.  To carry out audits and other functions to ascertain the quality of data held and extract data from clinical systems and run searches as required. Support with web design as required.

You will ideally have a background delivering/supporting data/quality projects ideally within healthcare, having a good technical understanding of systems. You will be a meticulous planner, a clear communicator and a proactive individual. NHS environments are challenging, colleagues have different interests competing for their time, so for us to deliver its strategic aims you will have to actively push the IT/Data agenda. You will anticipate risks and issues, own problems and identify viable solutions. You will ensure that the projects you manage deliver solutions that the end users are happy to utilise and that fulfil the expectations and the needs of their staff and patients.

About us

Severn Health PCN is made up of Seven GP practices which are based in Stroud, Gloucestershire with a patient population of approx. 43,000. The PCN is busy, energetic and has a clear vision on tackling health inequalities in an ever-changing environment within our semi-rural location. There are currently seven practices that make up the PCN and we provide and are developing a skilled workforce that can deliver high quality, safe and value for money health care services for the benefit of our population.

This role will work within the PCN team and with all our practices to ensure we provide project management expertise to enable the successful management and delivery of projects across the data /IT and digital space.

Job description

1. Lead Data quality projects within wider QI program towards successful completion
2. Support practices to interpret and understand data/IIF indicators
3. Reviewing the data and working with practices to implement systems to hit our Impact and Investment indicator targets. 
4. Support practices and projects with web design as required
5. Act as Agilio Team NetChampion and be super user and train others
6. Support with Population Health Management deep dives/ data reporting
7. Act as Severn Health PCN representative at CCG IT meetings
8. Investigate and implement solutions for streamlined PCN level reporting
9. Deliver update briefings at PCN and Practice Manager Meetings where requested.
10. Work with stakeholders to scope and define workstreams
11. Identify data quality related risks/issues, apply mitigations and escalate where appropriate

Qualification / Experience

• A-level (or equivalent qualification) and/or relevant experience within IT/data management.
• Experience in participating within project delivery and/or interrogating clinical systems
• A good level of knowledge of modern IT infrastructure and applications
• Good working knowledge of current Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems and software
• Ability to solve problems and create imaginative solutions
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical teams/individuals
• The ability to inspire & motivate others
• Accurate with attention to detail
• Training and mentoring skills
• Ability to plan own workload and co-ordinate a variety of tasks
• Ability to sustain periods of closeconcentration
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Travel across network/car user 
• Vision/Imagination


• Relevant Degree or Masters in IT Field or equivalent relevant experience;
• Current working knowledge of IT systems in a healthcare environment/clinical systems
• A good understanding of governance within the NHS.

Salary: Salary up to £32,300 - £39,000 per annum (DOE)
