St Mark’s C of E Junior School are looking to appoint a School Business Manager to join our aspirational, dynamic and nurturing school community. The SBM role is diverse and varied, and aimed to support the Head Teacher in the organisation, management and overseeing of the school finances, personnel, premises, and other administration tasks. The SBM will work as part of the Senior Leadership Team and will line manage the Administration Team and Site Staff.

The successful candidate would be required to:

• Proactively raise standards and outcomes for all, through finance, personnel, administration and premises, in line with the school’s Christian vision and associated values.
• Be a friendly, helpful and dynamic leader of the office team, demonstrating high standards in customer service for our stakeholders.
• Build positive, working relationships with children, parents, staff and governors.
• Be able to line manage effectively and set aspirational goals in line with the school development plan and evaluation of the school business needs.
• Be able to work as part of a team and have excellent communication skills.
• Have experience of working within agreed and statutory policies, including safeguarding, finance and health and safety.
• Seek and gain bids to secure future school funding.
• Maintain and update finance systems as agreed by the Head Teacher and working with the GCC Local Authority Finance Team or similar agency.
• Report finance to Governors, on an additional claim basis, up to 6 times a year.
• Liaise with contractors, in line with finance and property policies and ensure that maintenance, compliance and improvements to the school site are actioned, effectively.
• Be organised and methodical in systems and processes, keeping clear and concise records, overseeing and monitoring practice, in line with GDPR compliance.
• Write, review and update school policies in line with current information and statutes.
• Have the ability to research and enquire to provide and share best practice.
• Have a sound knowledge of the local area and the context of the school.
• Be willing to build strong community links.
• Have enthusiasm and enjoy a busy, varied job role.

We can agree the start date, for successful candidate, in accordance to resignation timescales. Preferably: 21st March 2022, giving 3 weeks of handover time with current SBM.
The starting salary will be agreed upon the business needs of the school and the experience of the successful candidate.
This position is 37.5 hours per week.
