Cheltenham College has a vacancy for a Portering and Security Officer. Portering and Security Officers are essential to the daily operation of College ensuring College life and events run smoothly. They are often the initial point of contact with the public, parents, staff and pupils.
Portering and Security Officers undertake a variety of vital roles for College, setting up rooms for events, the day-to-day physical security of the site, minor emergency maintenance/repair tasks, initial first aid and for the coordination of security and fire alarms and services.
A full clean driving licence is required and experience of working in a school would be desirable.
College is a busy and challenging environment, which operates 24/7, therefore, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are needed, along with a flexible and conscientious attitude. The ability to communicate well is essential.

Hours: 40-hour week, working shifts Monday to Sunday. Three-core shifts (8.5 hours) are worked between 06.00 to 22.30 and are arranged by the Portering and Security Manager and/or Head Porter.
Night Shifts: Portering and Security Officers work up to 11-night shifts per year to cover the annual leave of the Night Security Officers
Average hours: 40 hours per week
