Chemistry Teacher

Cheltenham

For September 2020, Cheltenham College seeks to appoint an excellent honours graduate to join its thriving Chemistry Department.

We would welcome applications from experienced teachers seeking new challenges or teachers beginning their career who will be provided with the requisite support for an NQT.

In Chemistry, results are excellent, with over 75% A*/A at IGCSE Chemistry (2019), 100% A*-B (2017) and 94 % A*-B (2018) at A-Level. Therefore, whilst having the ability to create enthusiasm and excitement for the subject, applicants should also be able to stretch the highest attaining pupils, (including to Oxbridge level), as well as using a range of strategies to teach across the ability range.

In addition to becoming a vital member of the Chemistry Department, applicants will also wish to contribute to College’s rich co-curricular programme.

The College has its own very competitive salary scale.

Closing date for applications is 12 noon prompt on Friday, 21 February 2020. Interviews are scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 4 March.

Please click on the Apply Now button to download an application and supplementary information form, or contact the HR Department via the number in the contact details to ask for the forms to be posted to you.

Please note that a completed application form is required in addition to a CV and covering letter. CVs alone will not be accepted.  They must be returned electronically to the email address, or by post to the contact details given in the advert on the College website.

Cheltenham College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in its recruitment and selection of job applicants and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
