Wellbeing Co-ordinator

ACCOUNTABLE TO GL Communities
LINE MANAGED BY Deputy Manager
LOCATION Primarily based at the Phoenix Centre but working within the local Partnership.
EXPENSES Reasonable travel expenses if required
Responsibilities and accountability:
Co-ordinator will be employed by GL Communities.

Training:
Relevant training opportunities may be available. Depending on the nature of the training and in discussion with the line manager, training may be either within or outside of working hours.
Specific responsibilities of the Partnership Worker:
1. To work with residents in the community to promote health and wellbeing and social inclusion.
2. To be responsible for implementing effective co-ordination, internal and external referrals and promotion of the Phoenix Centre work and GL Communities activities. This may include being a key holder for the Phoenix Centre, monitoring usage and development of these facilities.
3. To have conversations with local residents about existing community assets or by developing new ones.
4. To encourage residents through coaching or mentoring to access volunteering, training, education and employment opportunities by running or linking to development opportunities at the Centre or elsewhere.
5. To support the promotion and marketing process of the Phoenix Centre and the local Partnership. To encourage and improve use of the facilities
6. To support the social media updates as required to keep residents involved within the work of GL
7. To liaise with other initiatives in the area so that the work of the Partnership can be complementary to other services in the area.
8. To build and develop effective partnerships with communities, Businesses, Voluntary and Community Sector and other service providers.
9. To promote an understanding of the purpose of this work for local residents and to local groups and organisations, and how they might get involved.
10. To assist in identifying people who may be interested in becoming members of the Phoenix Centre as part of the Well-Being project and be a part of our inclusive work.
11. To identify and support the development of local community led initiatives
12. To attend the local Partnership meetings and keep the steering group informed of any new groups/activities and how they are progressing.
13. To keep proper records of work undertaken, and provide regular updates to the funders and GL leadership team
14. To attend appropriate training
15. To work within GL Communities Health and Safety, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Data protection, Safeguarding and other policies.
16. To carry out any other duties as required, commensurate with the post, and depending on available time and resources.
Job Specification:
Training and Qualification: Qualification equal to a NVQ level 3 and/or experience of working in communities: Essential
Experience of working in this field using an asset-based approach: Desirable
Accredited qualifications including Maths and English above basic skills level: Essential
Project leadership: Desirable
Coaching and mentoring skills: Desirable
Effective communication skills: Essential
IT skills: Essential
Understanding of strength-based service delivery: Desirable
Knowledge of local asset and agencies: Desirable
