Community Fundraiser

Moreton in Marsh

Cotswold Friends is a local charity based in Moreton in Marsh, providing Community Transport, Befriending, Carer Respite and Community Activities to older and vulnerable people in the North Cotswolds.

We aim to combat loneliness and isolation. Our voluntary services improve health and wellbeing and support independent living.

As the Community Fundraiser, you will be required to raise funds for Cotswold Friends services through grant applications to Trusts and Foundations and other sources including major donors and businesses.

We are looking for a candidate:

• To increase Charity funds through researching and targeting charitable trusts / other funding sources and donors who may be sympathetic to the work of Cotswold Friends.
• Identify and approach funders to achieve £100,000 of new funding pa (£50,000 for use in year 1, £75,000 for use in year 2, £100,000 for use in year 3 minimum)
• Write applications and reports (funders’ and trustees’) and keep records of them in the office
• Work with the Charity Administrator to ensure payments are received and allocated correctly to the Xero finance system.
• Develop systematic approach to fundraising including diarising regular events / application deadlines and reporting requirements.
• Build and maintain fundraising relationships.

The successful candidate will have experience of fundraising and bid writing with a proven track record of achieving £5,000 - £25,000 from individual grant applications. They will be deadline and outcome focused. Have knowledge of the community and volunteer services sector. They need excellent verbal and written communication skills. They will have good presentation skills. Be self motivated with good organisational and time management skills. They are required to have good IT skills and the ability to use Word and Excel.

An induction programme and training in Cotswold Friends systems and processes will be provided.

The successful candidate will have to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
