ASSISTANT - PM/RT/1020

Stroud

WSP Solicitors are dynamic and forward thinking legal practice with offices across Stroud, Gloucester and Dursley. We have been serving Gloucestershire for over 250 years and operate across a wide range of personal and commercial law.

The Role

We are looking for an Assistant to provide excellent support to the Practice Management Team based in our Stroud office although there will be an expectation to work from home during the current pandemic.  The role would suit an individual who enjoys a busy, varied and challenging day. 

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Drafting letters, administering forms and applications.
  • Maintaining company records including data input and printing reports.
  • Maintaining up to date computer systems, for example SharePoint and Wordpress.
  • Managing email enquiries including from clients and prospective employees.
  • Assisting clients and approved third parties in person, via email or over the phone.
  • Diary management including organising meetings and training events.
  • Administering meetings including typing circulating agendas and minutes.
  • Aiding the management of suppliers including reviewing invoices and obtaining quotes.
  • Maintaining computer filing systems and legacy paper files.
  • Monitoring agreed actions and ensuring they are complete.
  • Providing support with basic IT queries and liaising with relevant parties for resolution
  • Conduct other reasonable duties which will require the following competencies:

          o The ability to communicate and train colleagues
          o Work independently in a computerised professional environment
          o Learn the practices policies, procedures, quality awards and compliance standards
          o Participate within projects through being organised and hardworking
          o Collect data and conduct routine calculations

The Person

We are looking for a candidate who has had previous administrative experience, ideally in a legal environment.  The ideal candidate will be confident, proactive, team focussed, flexible and adaptable to change whilst providing care and attention to detail to help deliver the best service to our clients.  Computer literate, being organised and able to use initiative are also considered pre-requites for this important role.  You will also be expected to have full driving licence and have access to a car.
