About The Team & Role

Gloucestershire Employment and Skills Hub provides a central source of information and support for residents and businesses.  The aim is to help residents access learning and work opportunities, as well help employers get the right people, with the right skills, in the right roles.  We are a team of dedicated professionals who thrive on helping people to achieve their learning and employment aspirations.   

The Job Broker role is to work with employers to understand the benefits of employing refugees, identifying opportunities for sustainable paid employment and positively influence employers to recruit and retain refugees. The postholder will help individuals identify their potential, encourage development and identify workplace adjustments that can facilitate opportunities for work experience, volunteering and paid work opportunities which will include developing understanding of Access to Work and other services that can provide additional support for barriers faced by individuals and employers.

About You

You must have excellent communication skills which will allow for you to develop a range of close links with employers and partnership organisations.  You will have experience working with employers and supporting people with employability barriers, particularly refugees or asylum seekers and experience in achieving performance outcomes coupled with customer focused business planning and delivery.

Your knowledge and skills will include language skills or the ability to use translation apps and tools, knowledge of employment policies, procedures and welfare services and an awareness of recruitment and selection processes used by employers which may present challenges for refugees.
