Credit Controller - WF/12450

Credit Controller (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Our client based in Gloucester is looking for a Credit Controller to manage the allocated customer base and work with relevant stakeholders to ensure that prompt payment is made, and appropriate actions are taken to follow up non-payment.
Responsibilities –
- Work as a team of 4 Credit Controllers to prevent and reduce debt.
- Deliver excellent customer service to customers.
- Work collaboratively with sales representatives across ledgers.
- Chase debtors promptly to ensure debts are received in a timely manner.
- Monitor and identify changes in payment patterns.
- End to end ownership of the debt chasing process for your ledger of accounts to include documentation, query resolution and dunning letters.
- Onboarding of new customers, including credit checks with reference agencies.
- Propose solutions to reduce debt and take effective action, to include the negotiation of payment plans.
- Propose unrecoverable balances to be written off periodically.
- Other ad-hoc duties as required to support all areas of the business.
Requirements –
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
- Excellent relationship building, interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
- Proactive approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good IT skills and experience using systems and Microsoft office, including excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Positive and polite telephone manner.
- Awareness of the pre-action protocols for debt claims to enable the business to issue court proceedings.
