Credit Controller (6 Month Fixed Term Contract) - KW
Cheltenham
Position Available: Credit Controller (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)
Location: Gloucester
Salary: £27,000 per annum
Our client in Gloucester is seeking a dedicated Credit Controller to oversee their customer base and ensure timely payments while taking necessary actions to address outstanding debts.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team of 4 Credit Controllers to minimize and manage debt.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients.
- Work closely with sales representatives across different accounts.
- Promptly follow up with debtors to secure payments.
- Monitor payment patterns and identify any deviations.
- Take ownership of the debt recovery process, including documentation, query resolution, and issuing dunning letters.
- Conduct credit checks on new customers using reference agencies.
- Develop and propose strategies to reduce outstanding debt, including negotiating payment plans.
- Recommend writing off unrecoverable balances as needed.
- Assist in other tasks as required to support various business functions.
Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, organizational abilities, and accuracy are essential.
- Proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Polite and positive telephone manner.
- Familiarity with pre-action protocols for debt claims is advantageous.
