Client Manager / Practice Accountant

Position: Client Manager / Practice Accountant (5 Years Experience +)
Working Hours: 25-35 hours
Location: 122 Bath Road, Cheltenham ( Remote Options)
Reporting to: Senior Client Manager Richard Mctaggart

Responsibilities:
- Your main duty will be to complete accounts for small limited companies, sole traders, partnerships as well as self-assessment tax returns.
- This will be your own client base that you will need to manage to ensure internal deadlines and standard are met.
- You will be able to take annual accounts and tax return meetings if needed although this client base will generally be more compliance driven with very little advisory related support required.
- The position requires you to report to the Senior Client Manager.
- You will be able to support the rest of the team as needed with VAT returns, bookkeeping, accounts and ad-hoc queries.
- You will ideally have Xero experience and being able to train clients is desirable but not essential on simple bookkeeping processes.
- Other duties that help us deliver an amazing client experience as they arise (we have a strong growth mindset at CTA).
Soft skills:
- Good phone skills is essential.
- Ability to see clients face to face from time to time is also required
Technical Requirements:
- The successful applicant needs a high level of technical knowledge and an ability to apply it to finalise Jobs for clients.
- The ACCA/ACA/AAT/ATT qualification is desirable but not a necessity.
- Preparing Financial Statements for: Sole Traders, Partnerships, Companies
- Preparing Tax Returns for: Sole Traders, Partnerships, Companies
- Preparing VAT returns
- Bookkeeping experience is desirable
- Management accounts experience is desirable.
- Use of the following software (desirable not essential): Xero Accounting (90% of Clients are on Xero), Outlook/Office, Taxcalc, Karbon
Accountabilities:
Quarterly catch up with Senior Client Manager
Professional Development:
- It is recommended you stay abreast of new technologies and taxation laws.
- Any CPD hours also need to be met.
