Cheltenham

Working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm.

38 weeks per year (term time plus 4 weeks to be mutually agreed during holiday periods)

The salary for this role is from £30,367 to £33,564per annum FTE. For working 38 weeks per year plus holiday pay this equates to £25,642 up to £28,341 per annum
Starting salary is dependent upon experience and qualifications

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a friendly team working on a permanent term time plus 4 weeks contract within our Finance Department. The Finance function is a busy department, responsible for collecting fee income and paying approximately 12,000 supplier invoices per annum as well as providing accounting and budgetary support to all College departments.

As well as producing termly and annual accounts, the Finance Department co-ordinates the annual budgeting process and supports managers and Heads of Departments to understand and manage their budgets throughout the year. Our aim is to support all areas of College and its subsidiary companies to manage finances efficiently whilst maintaining appropriate internal controls and safeguarding College’s assets.

The Finance Officer role is key to ensuring the smooth operation of our transactional processes, with a particular focus on sales ledger (non-fee income), reconciliations, banking, and support to the purchase ledger.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented and enjoys working in a busy and collaborative environment. You will have a flexible and proactive approach and be keen to get involved in day-to-day transactions. Ideally you will be AAT part or fully qualified or have demonstratable experience in a similar role. 

To succeed in this role, you should be confident working to deadlines, managing multiple priorities, and maintaining accuracy when busy. A positive, can-do attitude and excellent communication skills are essential.

As a member of the support staff you will be part of a large and friendly community of professionals who support our pupils’ education and experience and you’ll be joining a significant team that underpins the success of College.
