The Role
To own the end-to-end process across defined areas of our central overheads accounting, forecasting, and reporting. The role will involve some business partnering, reporting and FP&A opportunities, with the primary focus making sure that the Balance Sheet is maintained correctly to provide a sound basis for the accuracy, insight and effectiveness of reporting output and external audit
You Will
Be responsible for the Balance Sheet maintenance of specific areas of the central cost base
Be responsible for preparing cost centre output and insight analysis vs plan and prior year
Be responsible for updating and challenging Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and understanding
Be responsible for supporting and being responsible for defined parts of the FP&A function
Get involved with the annual external audit, liaising with the external audit team when required
Be ready to liaise with operator stakeholders across the business as appropriate
Be able to explain financial output to non-financial operators across the business in an effective way
Be able to build relationships with stakeholders from around the business outside of Finance as appropriate
Be responsible for owning and supporting with specific parts of the FP&A function
Support with investment appraisals, capital approvals, and post sign-off review of capital expenditure
Support the Finance Manager on projects outside of normal duties as required
Look for ways to utilize finance systems to their full potential
Ensure that all financials and reporting comply with relevant accounting standards and legislative frameworks
Have the mindset of always challenging BAU process to strive for extra efficiencies wherever possible
You Are
ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
Practically minded and have experience of accounting within industry
Proactive, driven, and resilient so can thrive in a fast-paced working environment
Able to work under your own initiative
Competent and comfortable with using finance systems
Able to hit the ground running, with a positive and driven attitude to make a real difference
A highly motivated, enthusiastic self-starter, someone who can roll their sleeves up and pitch in
Equipped with advanced Microsoft Excel skills as well as other key Microsoft Office applications
An exceptionally IT literate individual
Able to build strong working relationships with your immediate team and also with cross-functional team members
