Role Purpose
The purpose of the job is to act as a Client Accountant for the Property Management team to ensure that all required services provided in the office are carried out in a timely and accurate manner.


The role requires experience of working within a finance team in a property management company. Knowledge of Tramps or a similar property management accounting package (e.g. Yardi, Propman, MRI) would be an advantage.


An understanding of client accounting requirements to support a commercial property management team, along with intermediate MS Excel skills, would also be beneficial.


Key Responsibilities
Receipt processing

  • Assisting with banking cash and cheques received
  • Checking creditor invoices
  • Dealing with invoices and supplier queries
  • Completing weekly payment runs
  • Producing client statements and ad-hoc reports
  • Raising charges and processing ad-hoc charges (insurance, utilities, repairs)
  • Raising tenant and internal invoices
  • Maintaining client, tenant and creditor records
  • Checking and running VAT returns for clients and submitting to HMRC via MTD
  • Assisting with answering incoming calls
  • Carrying out ad-hoc duties as required within the Property Management team

Must Haves

  • Previous experience working within a finance or client accounting team in a property management environment
  • Strong understanding of client accounting principles
  • Experience processing invoices, receipts, and payment runs
  • Knowledge of VAT accounting and VAT returns
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Reliable, committed, and professional approach to work
  • Nice to Haves
  • Experience using Tramps or similar property management accounting systems (e.g. Yardi, Propman, MRI)
  • AAT Level 3 or above, or currently studying towards AAT (or equivalent qualification)
  • Intermediate or advanced MS Excel skills (e.g. formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations)
  • Experience working with commercial property portfolios
  • Familiarity with HMRC MTD submissions
  • Experience producing client reports and statements
