Transaction Accounting Technology & Projects Analyst
Gloucester
Are you an experienced Accounts Payable or Transactional Finance professional who understands what sits behind the AP process and has been actively involved in improving the systems, technology and processes that make it work?
If you’re currently working in AP or Transactional Finance but find yourself increasingly interested in the systems, processes and technology behind the operation, this could be an excellent next step.
This is an exciting newly created permanent opportunity to join a large, global and rapidly expanding organisation as a Transaction Accounting Projects Analyst, supporting the Accounts Payable and wider Transaction Accounting function through a significant programme of technology-enabled change and transformation.
This is not a traditional Accounts Payable processing role. We’re looking for someone who can look beyond the day-to-day processing of invoices and payments and understand how the underlying systems, processes, data and integrations need to work to make AP more efficient, controlled and scalable.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the design and delivery of Accounts Payable and Transaction Accounting technology transformation projects, including e-invoicing, DDP and LER-related initiatives.
- Understanding how AP processes should work and translating those requirements into clear system, process, data and integration requirements for IT and external providers.
- Helping to define what a system needs to do, rather than simply using or implementing a system that has already been designed.
- Working with stakeholders across AP, Finance, Procurement, Tax, IT and third-party providers to develop and implement effective solutions.
- Supporting the design and implementation of e-invoicing infrastructure, governmental portal connections, interfaces and system integrations.
- Contributing to system and process design, configuration, testing, defect resolution and User Acceptance Testing.
- Analysing transactional and system data to identify root causes, control weaknesses, inefficiencies and opportunities for automation or improvement.
- Supporting the implementation of new processes and technology through change management, training and post-implementation stabilisation.
- Monitoring whether projects are delivering the intended benefits, including improved efficiency, adoption, data quality, exception rates and control effectiveness.
What are we looking for?
- Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who has actually been involved in making change happen — someone who can identify what the business needs, help design the solution and then work with the relevant teams to get it implemented.
- We’re particularly interested in candidates who have actively delivered finance systems or process change, rather than simply having worked in an environment where a system change took place.
- You may have come from an Accounts Payable, Purchase-to-Pay, Transactional Finance, Finance Systems, Finance Transformation or Process Improvement background.
