This role offers a broad range of responsibilities across payroll and financial accounting, providing an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a dynamic manufacturing environment. There are opportunities for development as evidenced by the Finance Manager who began with the business in this position and, to that end, study support is on offer.
Approximately half the role has a payroll element so applicants will need to be interested in that side of Finance. The other half requires some experience of reconciliations, analysis, reporting and month-end so we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate more than just transactional finance experience.
About the Role:
- Ownership and completion of weekly and monthly payrolls
- Processing payroll-related queries and ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance
- Completion of associated general ledger journals
- Production of monthly headcount and people-related reporting
- Recharging of costs within the Group
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
- Analysing expenditure for Corporation Tax reporting requirements
- Supporting the monthly reporting process and submission of results to Group
- Supporting annual stocktakes
- Assisting with internal and external audits
About You:
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and ideally be AAT qualified and/or actively studying towards ACCA or CIMA. You will also have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, have excellent communication skills, be efficient, proactive, self-motivated and highly organised with good attention to detail.
