Management Accountant

Location: Dursley, Gloucestershire

Hours: Full time Monday to Friday

Salary: 50,000 - 55,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities of a Management Accountant:

  • Verify financial data from other departments, including sales invoicing and cost reporting
  • Prepare monthly accruals and prepayments
  • Manage and maintain the fixed asset register
  • Manage and maintain the HP schedule
  • Complete financial reconciliation of stock
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and maintain full supporting schedules
  • Manage recharge of inter-departmental costs
  • Report on income, expenditure, profit margins, and hire utilisation
  • Analyse and report on variances and anomalies
  • Collate and report departmental performance metrics
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process, including attending budget meetings with heads of department and collating the budget model
  • Undertake quarterly forecast updates
  • Analyse performance versus budget and forecast, providing clear insights
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns
  • Assist with day-to-day cash management
  • Support external audit processes and liaise with auditors
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
  • Oversee reconciliation of company credit cards and fuel cards
  • Provide financial support for strategic projects and business cases
  • Support the development of ledger staff

Key Skills of a Management Accountant:

  • ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a similar management accounting role
  • Strong understanding of financial systems and reporting tools
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 Annual +

Hours Per Week: Full Time
