Pay Rate: £20.00 - £25.00 per hour
Location: Stonehouse, Gloucester
Duration: 12 months
Hours: 35 hours per week flexible hours over 5 days

Working as part of a 4-person finance team, this role requires someone who is a strong team player with excellent communication skills.

Objectives

As a Management Accountant within the UK finance team, you will ensure the efficient and timely processing of general accounting activities for our client. This is a varied position where you will be responsible for working across accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and management accounting/reporting.

Your practical accounting experience, along with excellent Excel skills, will be key to the role as you provide important support and reports to the management team. You will be responsible for following the company's accounting processes and meeting tight deadlines.

Existing knowledge of accounting and ERP systems will also be important. You should be keen to take on new challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills, and expand your knowledge and experience through on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

  • Balance sheet account reconciliation, review and ageing analysis.
  • Compiling and reviewing lease schedules.
  • Compiling and reviewing SOX control documentation.
  • Assisting with government reporting.
  • Liaising with shared service centres and overseas colleagues to ensure compliance with procedures, policies and controls.
  • Participating in the preparation of month-end and management reports, including providing absence cover.
  • Collating audit paperwork for external auditors.
  • Assisting the finance department and senior accounting staff with various tasks, including preparing accruals, records, filing and statements.
  • Completing year-end accounting analysis and tax summaries.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work is completed in full compliance.
  • Ensuring all financial and legal policies are followed at all times.
  • Ensuring safe working practices are maintained within the workplace.

Qualifications

  • AAT qualified and working towards ICAS, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.

Experience

  • Previous experience working within a finance or accounting position.
  • Working knowledge of general accounting processes.

Skills, Training & Special Knowledge

  • Excellent computer literacy, including strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.

Salary: £20 to £25 Hourly +
