Management Accountant

Robert Half Finance and Accounting are seeking an experienced Interim Management Accountant to join an established business on an initial contract for a minimum of 6 months, with potential up to 12 months.

Previous manufacturing or industrial experience would be advantageous, although candidates from other industry backgrounds with the relevant management accounting experience will also be considered.
Candidates who are Qualified by Experience (QBE), Part-Qualified or Fully Qualified will be considered.

Role: Management Accountant

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months minimum, potential up to 12 months

Money: £40,000 - £50,000 (DOE)

Location: Gloucester, office based

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce monthly management accounts
• Complete month-end reconciliations
• Analyse financial results, investigate variances against budget and forecast
• Monitor costs, margins and operational expenditure
• Support the month-end close process
• Work closely with operational and non-finance stakeholders
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
• Support the wider finance function as required

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar management accounting role
• Demonstrable experience in preparing and producing monthly management accounts
• Strong understanding of month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
• Previous manufacturing or industrial experience would be desirable but is not essential
• Good Excel skills
• A proactive, hands-on approach, with the ability to quickly adapt
• Good communication skills
• QBE, Part-Qualified or Fully Qualified candidates will be considered
