Accounts Assistant
Sedgeberrow, Evesham
Role and Responsibilities
- Accounts Assistant working directly with the owner of the firm to service a growing client base of around 130 clients, composed of micro companies, partnerships, sole traders, and individuals.
- Full time position available, 35 hours a week over 5 days. Hybrid working available.
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Rate of pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
- Company, Partnership and Sole Trade Accounts and Corporate Tax Returns. Drafting working papers, reconciling balance sheet items, liaising with clients to request documents and information as necessary, drafting accounts and tax computations in Taxcalc.
- Bookkeeping. Processing client records provided by us from the clients in either electronic or paper form into HubDoc and Xero, or spreadsheets, preparing management accounts, liaising with clients to request missing records, organising clients records.
- Self-Assessment Tax Returns and Partnership Tax Returns. Drafting tax computations using Taxcalc, liaising with clients to request documents and information as necessary, advising clients of tax liabilities due.
- Payroll. Processing weekly, monthly and annual payrolls in BrightPay, preparation of P11ds, liaising with clients to ensure payroll is accurate, RTI submissions, pension submissions/uploads.
- Other tasks may include, scanning post in for clients, confirmation statement/PSC filings, organising client records, assisting with control processes, and assisting the owner of the firm with any tasks they deem necessary to fully service all clients in an efficient manner.
Qualifications and education requirements
- AAT Qualified or equivalent.
- Full driving license with business insurance.
- At least 1 years’ experience working in a practice environment.
Preferred skills
- Proficient with Xero, excel, outlook and word.
- Good communication skills in person, on the phone and via email.
- Can work independently if required.
- Would be happy to travel to clients if required, in the Cheltenham, Stroud, Gloucester & Tewkesbury areas.
- Keen to learn and can take initiative when undertaking tasks.
- Strong organisational skills.
Additional notes
This role will be primarily office based in Sedgeberrow, Nr Evesham. The flexibility of hybrid working is available.
All required training on software and processes will be provided, along with any IT equipment needed.
