Why this role?

Samson Lifting is expanding —online sales are growing steadily, production is busy and new projects are landing weekly. We’re looking for a self-starting administrator who’s hungry to grow with us: you’ll keep the office (and our e-commerce engine) running smoothly today, while building the skills to step up as Office Manager tomorrow.

What you’ll do day-to-day

  • Own our e-commerce admin – update products, prices, images & stock; process online orders; spot and fix data issues.
  • General office administration – phones, email enquiries, invoices, supplier orders, shipping paperwork, filing and basic bookkeeping support.
  • Cross-team backup – jump into order fulfilment, packaging and pick/pack when things get hectic; lend a hand in the sewing room (we manufacture webbing slings on site).
  • Continuous improvement – streamline spreadsheets, create simple automations, suggest better processes and keep an eye on stock and spend.
  • Customer service – friendly first point of contact for trade and web customers.

What we’re looking for

Must-haves

  • Strong IT skills – you’re comfortable with Excel/Sheets, cloud file-sharing and (ideally) at least one e-commerce/website or stock-control platform.
  • Proven ability to pick up new software quickly and work out better, faster ways to do things.
  • Organised self-starter who can spot what needs doing and just get on with it.
  • Good written and verbal communication (you’ll be writing product copy and answering customer queries).
  • Comfortable moving between office, warehouse and production areas.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Shopify, WooCommerce, Sage/Xero or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with and interest in AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude.
  • Basic accounts / purchasing / stock-control knowledge.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, engineering or trade e-commerce.
  • Social-media or marketing know-how.
