We will consider either two part-time job-sharing employees or one full-time staff member for this position.

Harper Field Auctioneers & Valuers are recruiting for an office administrator to join their small dedicated team and provide a comprehensive and reliable administration service to the auctioneers and saleroom staff.

Working to deadlines you will be required to undertake all aspects of administration related to pre-sale and post-sale activities such as, but not limited to, inputting of vendor receipts, managing online catalogues, collection of payments and dispatch of items.

The day to day office environment is a very busy one with a need to juggle multiple tasks and prioritise work.  As well as general administration duties, you will be required to answer the telephone and deal with vendor and buyer enquiries, manage diary bookings for the auctioneer, and provide a high level of service to visitors.

A flexible approach to working hours is essential, pre-sale preparation and sale days will often require a later finish.


Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A good level of IT knowledge, with accurate data input skills and experience of handling image files
  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • Good local geographical knowledge (beneficial for the management of the auctioneer’s diary)
