Payroll Administrator
Cheltenham
Monday to Friday, part time (25 hours minimum)
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a wonderful team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is central to ensuring the accurate and timely processing of their weekly employee payroll and related financial transactions.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of payroll regulations, demonstrate discretion in handling confidential information, and possess strong analytical/communication skills.

Must Have’s
- Previous experience in payroll administration, ideally within a multi-system environment.
- Familiarity with payroll platforms such as Fourth and accounting systems like Xero.
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, tax codes, and statutory payments.
- Comfortable working with digital tools to manage data and generate reports.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
So what will you be doing?
- Manage and respond to payroll-related communications via the Payroll Inbox, ensuring timely and professional handling of queries, updates, and requests.
- Post and reconcile payroll journals in Xero, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month-end reporting processes.
- Operate and maintain payroll records using the designated payroll system, ensuring data is up-to-date, compliant, and securely stored.
- Liaise with the external payroll bureau to manage and resolve technical or processing queries, ensuring effective coordination and timely payroll delivery.
- Liaise with internal teams and employees to address payroll-related questions, clarify employee data, and support the resolution of any discrepancies or concerns.
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of payroll data, adhering to data protection regulations and internal policies at all times.
