Art Technician
Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
For an immediate start, Cheltenham College’s Art Department seeks to appoint a part-time Art Technician on a term-time plus 2-week basis (35 weeks per year in total).
The hours of work will be 15 per week (usually Mondays and Tuesdays and the additional 2 weeks outside of term time will be worked as agreed with the Head of Art and to suit the needs of the department.
The role will involve providing hands-on and admin support to the Department’s teaching programme and includes providing help to pupils in lessons as well as becoming involved in many of the practical aspects of the day-to-day running of the department.
Applicants should have excellent knowledge of Art and Design techniques and materials combined with an enthusiasm to learn new processes/techniques if required - such as Screen/Lino/Relief printing, preparing stretchers for painting, casting with plaster, clay and kiln firing with a willingness to aid and assist staff and pupils.
Full training will be provided, therefore the ability to learn new skills quickly is required, and applicants should be adaptable and able to demonstrate a high degree of initiative.
Salary
Based on experience, the pro-rata salary will start at £7,7501.69 (based on a full-time equivalent of £24,862.50)
Salary grade B/C depending on experience
