Meri Meri is a creative, design‑led brand known for bringing joy to celebrations, home décor and children’s accessories. Our Cheltenham Studio is home to our talented design and photography teams who bring imagination to life through beautiful products and storytelling-led imagery.

We are looking for an organised, proactive, and highly collaborative Studio Assistant to join our creative studio. This role is central to keeping our design and photoshoot processes running smoothly, ensuring both teams are supported day‑to‑day and able to work at their best.

Role Overview

The Studio Assistant will provide hands-on support to both the Design and Photography teams, helping to prepare mock‑ups, maintain studio organisation, manage samples, and assist with photography shoots. This role involves attending shoots,  preparing props and stock, and ensuring the studio environment is well-resourced and smoothly operated.

This is an exciting entry level opportunity for a team player with excellent organisation skills, a creative eye, and a passion for working in a fast-paced, design-led studio environment. This is an in-house position that would suit someone who wants to work in a creative environment, but does not want to be a designer.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Creative Support

  • Assist designers by mocking up product concepts, packaging and filling out the database.
  • Support with crafting, assembling prototypes and mocking up products for shoots.
  • Maintain a tidy, well-organised sample library and design materials area and studio.
  • Perform basic photo editing or file preparation (training can be provided).
  • Prepare samples, materials, and visual aids.
  • Collating excel sales information for the studio.

Photography & Photoshoot Support

  • Attend studio photography and location shoots to provide hands-on support.
  • Work collaboratively with the photography team to style scenes, prepare sets including using ladders, and assist with shoot logistics.
  • Organise and prepare stock, props, and materials required for each shot this includes carrying boxes.
  • Source or create props when needed, ensuring everything is ready in advance.
  • Act as a safeguarding contact during shoots, ensuring safe and professional conduct at all times.
  • Provide and maintain a clean and safe environment for crew members and kids models in the communal area.

Studio & Operational Duties

  • Order supplies, craft materials, props, and general studio stock to ensure smooth daily operation.
  • Maintain accurate organisation of samples, props, and shoot materials.
  • Manage deliveries, sample intake and distribution across teams.
  • Support with packing and shipping samples or props for external partners or events.
  • Keep shared studio spaces tidy, safe, and well-maintained including refreshing the paper and fabric recycling bags.
  • Support with administrative tasks.
  • Answering phone.

Additional Common Design Studio Duties

  • Assist with internal events, creative workshops, trade shows or team meetings.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a creative studio, photography environment, design workspace, or similar support role (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be able to use initiative.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and ability to multitask.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident, professional communication skills—especially when coordinating photoshoots.
  • A creative eye and interest in design, photography, or styling.
  • Competency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) is a bonus.
  • A drivers licence  (preferred but not essential).
  • Must be available to work away for the full duration of the three location photoshoots throughout the year.
