Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Band 4 Support Worker to join the Swindon Early Intervention (EI) in Psychosis Team.

The evidence base for EI teams is huge and it is so rewarding to see so many positive outcomes on a regular basis. You will have the opportunity to work alongside many other clinicians including family workers, CBT therapists, consultant Psychiatrist and psychologists. The team are very psychologically minded and we regularly meet for team formulations. You will receive training in specialist EI assessments and outcome measures and be supported where possible to pursue other areas of interest you may have within this field. You will have the opportunity to attend Network days with other EI teams, both within the trust and the whole of the South West of England. You will be involved in National audits and shared learning and team developments from these audits.

You will work as part of an MDT where there is a real whole team approach to Service User care. You are encouraged to bring any personal interests you have to the team and where appropriate bring this passion to enhance Service User care. You will be supported by the team to deliver a high quality of care.

You will have a UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 4 worker you will be expected to facilitate groups as well as undertaking 1:1 pieces of work. A car is essential and you will be expected to collect service users to get them to and from groups/appointments where necessary, therefore you will need to be covered for business use.

The role would involve the supporting the Key workers and being co-worker for a number of Service Users. You will work with all Service Users and Carers under the team. You will be involved in assessments and delivering a range of interventions to both individuals and their families and to groups.

There is an emphasis on physical health wellness, so good knowledge on physical health observations is advantageous or a keen interest to become skilled in this area in order to facilitate our physical health clinics. This may include phlebotomy training, ECG and full observation training to provide advice and guidance to our service users.
