Gluten Free Team Leader
Bishop's Cleeve, Cheltenham
This is a hands-on, full-time Gluten Free Team Leader role in our bakery. You’ll support and lead our GF team, organising their work and setting the example on every shift so that our gluten-free products are made safely, to specification and on time, while still getting stuck in on the line yourself. No weekend work is required, but optional overtime is available when required and paid at time and a half.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading the GF team day to day, allocating tasks and making sure the production plan is met
- Training and coaching the GF team when required
- Acting as the main point of contact for the GF team on shift and keeping your Line Manager updated
- Making sure ingredients are approved gluten-free and correctly stored and labelled
- Producing and packing gluten-free products alongside the team
- Keeping equipment and work areas clean and completing allergen cleaning checks
- Completing actions from audits as directed by the Technical team
- Following HACCP, food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures at all times
- Reporting any issues or non-conformances to your Line Manager
- Supporting the bakery team in other areas when required
What you need:
- Experience as a team leader, supervisor or senior operative in a food production or bakery environment is preferred
- Experience working with gluten-free or allergen-controlled production is a strong advantage
- A good understanding of allergen management, cross-contamination control and food hygiene (awareness of HACCP / BRC is a bonus)
- Confident communicating with, organising and motivating a team
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of food safety
- Reliable, punctual and well organised, able to work on your own or as part of a team
- A good attitude and willingness to get stuck in
