Self-Employed Baker / Bakery Assistant

We’re looking for a reliable, self-employed baker to support production in our busy Italian deli and bakery in Cheltenham.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys early starts, works efficiently, and takes pride in consistent output. Bakery on Alstone Lane not shop.

Role:

• Self-employed / freelance basis
• Regular ongoing work available

What you’ll be doing:

• Mixing and preparing focaccia dough (large batch production)
• Assisting with baking (focaccia, breads, sweet items)
• Shaping, tray work, and oven loading
• Maintaining a clean, organised workspace
• Supporting daily prep for service

What we’re looking for:

• Baking or kitchen prep experience preferred (but not essential)
• Strong work ethic and reliability (non-negotiable)
• Comfortable with early morning starts
• Able to work at pace and follow systems
• Takes ownership of their role and output

Hours:
Typically early mornings (around 5–6am starts), with consistent shifts available.
