THE ROLE - Manufacturing Engineer (Composites)
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stand-out aerospace engineering business as a Manufacturing Engineer in the development of aerospace components of a composite nature.
As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you'll need to possess both understanding of composites materials and their properties and also have a strong manufacturing background including process and quality improvements.
You'll need to be able to demonstrate key experience composite materials, with experience in carbon composites being highly desirable.
DUTIES - Manufacturing Engineer (Composites)
* Support product design for manufacture as required.
* Create Routings and BoM's.
* Develop Process Sheets as required for Standard Procedures.
* Develop and implement quality control procedures and have an Inspection plan is in place.
* Working with the Tooling Design team create the Tooling Concepts / Requirements.
* Develop PFMEAs to identify and mitigate risks.
* Review production data and recommend improvements in quality control and efficiency
* Support procurement with technical guidance.
* Support BD with quotations (methodology and costings).
BACKGROUND - Manufacturing Engineer (Composites)
* Experience of Composite manufacture and processing
* Strong understanding of composite materials - particularly carbon fiber
* Understanding quality control within aerospace.
* Proficiency in CAD (Solidworks preferable)
* Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
