Head of Campaign Strategy
Cheltenham
COBA is a Cheltenham-based agency working exclusively with ambitious built environment businesses. We're not a typical agency. We run our own brands, so we think like operators, and we bring that same commercial mindset to every client we work with.
Our work spans performance marketing, brand and content, all focused on one thing: driving measurable growth.
We're looking for an experienced Head of Campaign Strategy to lead the strategic direction and performance of campaigns across our client portfolio. Working closely with our Marketing Director, you'll turn business objectives into creative, joined-up marketing activity that delivers measurable results, build trusted relationships with senior clients and help our talented team deliver consistently brilliant work.
It's a senior, hands-on role for someone who combines big-picture thinking with commercial awareness, enjoys challenging the status quo and knows how to turn great ideas into action. You'll have the freedom to make decisions, influence how we work and play a meaningful part in shaping the future of COBA.
Key Responsibilities
• Campaign strategy – Leading integrated marketing strategies across our client portfolio, bringing together paid, organic, content, creative and digital activity to deliver meaningful results.
• Client leadership – Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, understanding their businesses and confidently advising, challenging and guiding their marketing direction.
• Campaign planning – Turning business objectives and customer insights into clear strategies, campaign plans, briefs, budgets and measurable outcomes.
• Performance & results – Taking ownership of campaign effectiveness, working closely with our specialists to identify opportunities, challenge performance and continuously improve results.
• Creative & strategic quality – Setting high standards for strategic thinking and creative output, ensuring everything we deliver has a clear purpose and makes an impact.
• Team leadership – Coaching and developing team members, encouraging fresh thinking, providing regular feedback and building a culture of ownership and high performance.
• Planning & delivery – Working closely with our Project Manager to balance priorities, resources and client expectations, ensuring campaigns are delivered effectively and profitably.
• Commercial growth – Spotting opportunities to grow client accounts, strengthen relationships and contribute to new business pitches and proposals.
• Agency development – Working alongside the Marketing Director to improve our approach to campaign strategy, introduce new ideas and help COBA continue to evolve.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
• Has significant experience in senior marketing roles, including experience working within a marketing agency, and a strong background in leading campaign strategy and teams.
• Has a strong background in B2B marketing, with a proven track record of developing integrated, multi-channel campaigns that deliver commercial results.
• Understands how different marketing channels work together, from paid media and SEO to brand, content, social and creative.
• Is commercially minded, curious about how businesses work and able to connect marketing investment with meaningful business outcomes.
• Is confident building relationships with senior clients, presenting ideas and constructively challenging thinking.
• Is a supportive but accountable leader who enjoys developing people, setting high standards and getting the best from a team.
• Can see the bigger picture while staying close enough to the detail to make things happen.
• Is organised, decisive and comfortable balancing multiple clients, competing priorities and deadlines.
• Is forward-thinking, open to new technology and excited by how AI and emerging tools can improve marketing and the way we work.
• Is collaborative, approachable and confident in their expertise without needing to have all the answers.
Above all, we're looking for someone who is curious, committed and caring. Someone who takes pride in doing great work, genuinely wants to make a difference and enjoys being part of a team that's always looking to get better.
