Knightsbridge Lodge is a 22-bed family run residential home for the elderly, and we are seeking a permanent full time experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team.

As part of the team, you will be instrumental in providing support assisting residents with their daily tasks and activities not only by example but by teaching to maintain high standards. This role also includes the administration of medication.

The following list outlines some of your key responsibilities; however, it is not exhaustive:

  • Administer medication
  • Assume leadership responsibilities during shifts.
  • By teaching and by example to help train junior members of the care staff in all aspects of their work in the Home.
  • Help the manager and deputy manager with the smooth running of the home.
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene requirements, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Assist residents in dressing and grooming.
  • Aid with toileting tasks, respecting individuals’ varying capacities and maintaining their privacy and dignity.
  • Engage with all visitors to the home, ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Participate in social activities within the home.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members in moving and handling activities, adhering to best practices and safety guidelines.
  • Help with meal service and provide feeding assistance as needed.
  • Help with some of the domestic duties as required.

The following qualities are sought after from the successful applicant:

  • Be willing to commit to at least 30 hours per week including weekends.
  • Possess the necessary background and qualifications.
  • To have experience and to confidently administer medication.
  • Have excellent communication skills when interacting with residents, their families and friends, and the other team members.
