Cemetery Operative

Coleford

We are seeking a reliable and flexible individual with previous experience in grounds maintenance preferably within a similar role, to join our Cemetery Service.  Supporting within a small team to maintain the high standards of the grounds at Mile End and Yew Tree Break Cemeteries.

About the role…

You will assist with duties supporting the service delivery and management of both Cemeteries. 

Maintaining both sites in all weather conditions to a high standard, including but not limited to, grass cutting, excavation work, hedge works, minor tree work, litter picking, general grounds and building maintenance.

Liaise and instruct contractors when required on site under the supervision of the Cemetery Manager.

Prepare and excavate graves by hand and mechanical means, including necessary shoring and backfilling.
