Meadowside is a welcoming one-form entry primary school committed to providing a safe, clean, and supportive environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors. We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join our team and help maintain our school premises to the highest standards.

The Role

Ensuring the school buildings and grounds are safe, secure, and well-maintained.

Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks.

Managing site security, including opening and locking up the school.

Monitoring heating, lighting, and energy usage.

Supporting health and safety compliance across the site.

Working with the cleaning team to ensure standards are met.

Liaising with contractors and supervising works when required.

Liaising with community groups that use our site out of school hours.

Commitment to training to ensure the safety of the school.

What We’re Looking For

Practical skills in maintenance and repair.

Good communication with all staff.

Good understanding of health and safety regulations.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

A positive, flexible attitude and commitment to the school community.

Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).

The hours are 6.45am-8.15am and 4.00-6.00pm and there maybe the opportunity for overtime.
