Job summary

We are at Gloucestershire Health and Care have an exciting opportunity for an Estates Maintenance Specialist to join the team, the successful candidate should have an multi biased background. They will will carry out (with minimum supervision) maintenance including; fault finding, repairs and installation work on all facilities, plant and equipment throughout the Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust Estate.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will Install, maintain, undertake fault finding, and make repairs to plant and equipment providing a full range of estates services.

Provide technical advice to other estates maintenance staff and external contractors to ensure all work is carried out safely, effectively, and in full compliance with statutory regulations, NHS safety standards, and local procedures this includes

advising colleagues/contractors on correct methods of work, isolation procedures, within the safe system of work

Supporting contractors by explaining site-specific risks, supporting permit-to-work requirements.

Ensuring compliance with HTMs, HBNs, building regulations, and Trust policies during maintenance and repair activities.

Reviewing completed work to confirm it meets engineering, safety, and quality standards before systems are returned to service.

Providing guidance during fault-finding, complex repairs, and planned maintenance tasks to ensure safe and efficient resolution.

Undertakes condition surveys and evaluates inspection reports to support asset management, compliance, and maintenance planning across the estate

Work is managed not supervised.

However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.
