About The Role

This is a job where nature meets great food, beverages and coffee, contributing towards a mission that matters!

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where no two days are the same! From serving food, restocking shelves, serving customers, making coffees, you'll be a key part of creating a welcoming, efficient, and engaging visitor experience – all while helping protect wetlands and wildlife. 

As Catering Assistant you will:

  • Consistently adhere to hygiene standards, food safety regulations and procedures, whether this is serving coffee, clearing tables, washing dishes, or serving and selling in our kiosks.
  • Contribute to the delivery of agreed targets and help to generate profits that support the conservation work of WWT.
  • You will work in a friendly, enthusiastic environment.
  • Be an integral part of an inspirational and vibrant trading environment that consistently provides an excellent visitor experience.
  • You'll help restore wetlands by following recycling policies and being sustainably aware while using utilities to reduce the impact on our environment.
  • Ensure wastage targets are met to minimise the impact on our environment.

This role will be working 35 hours per week 5 days from 7, to include weekends and bank holidays. 

When visiting our website, you will notice the position is referred to as Trading Assistant. This is how the role is known internally at WWT.

About You

  • Be friendly, approachable and willing to learn new skills.
  • Have knowledge of working in a busy environment.
  • Have experience of working with a food safety management systems.
  • Be confident in cash handling and EPOS till systems (full training will be given)
  • Be able to work independently and in a wider team.
  • Be able to think outside the 'pond' and contribute new ideas!
