Head of Finance

Head of Finance

Cheltenham

About The Role

Ubico is an award-winning environmental services company partnering with eight partner councils. We're shaping a greener, more efficient future for our communities and we're looking for a strategic, forward-thinking Head of Finance to help lead that change. With responsibility for a £60 million budget and a talented team of six, you'll play a pivotal role in driving innovation, financial performance, and value across our partnerships.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll ensure robust financial planning, governance, and reporting while supporting major transformation projects from digitising our fleet with smart technology to increasing electric vehicle use and moving to plant-based HVO fuel. You'll be a key player in our journey toward sustainability and efficiency, helping us create cleaner, smarter services for our residents.

This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strategic insight and hands-on collaboration. You'll work closely with operational leaders and partner councils, providing financial expertise that informs key decisions and shapes long-term strategy. With local government reorganisation opening exciting opportunities for growth, this is a perfect time to join a business that's evolving and expanding its reach.

We're looking for a qualified finance leader (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) with a proven record in managing complex budgets, leading teams, and driving financial performance in a multi-stakeholder environment. You'll bring commercial acumen, political sensitivity, and a passion for delivering value for money in public services.

Join us and make a tangible difference in how local government services are delivered sustainably, strategically, and collaboratively.
