SHARP Life & Learning Skills CIC is a non profit making organisation in Gloucester that provides an education and day service to vulnerable adults. We offer activity sessions for groups, such as art & craft, life skills, work skills, cookery, gardening, music, I.T., Drama – to name a few. We also provide 1:1 Support for learners who need extra help. There are around 95 learners attending SHARP on a weekly basis with a new Young Learners group who started this year and have their own timetabled sessions.
The Activity Co-ordinator role will be planning and delivery of innovative, creative and engaging educational or leisure activity sessions to meet the needs of the learner groups. You will devise learner targets, individual learning programmes, risk assessments and progress reports for individual learners in your group. You will organise, work closely with and direct the Support Worker, Volunteer and external carers in your groups.
Post holders must have experience of working with vulnerable adults – adults with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and/or autism, although training is provided. You must have excellent communication skills and a good standard of literacy, numeracy and IT You will have a positive attitude, the ability to motivate others and the skills to be able to identify and assess the needs of individual learners.
For this role it would be useful although not essential for the post holder to have use of their own car for transporting learners to activities.
