Community Support Manager - £40,476pa

Community Support Manager - £40,476pa

Gloucester

Location: Gloucester Services and a range of community venues in Gloucester and Stonehouse

Are you passionate about making a difference, about our community and neighbourhoods, about food and businesses doing good, about people and everyone fulfilling their potential, and about the power of working in partnership?

Gloucestershire Gateway Trust and the Westmorland Family are seeking a proactive, people-focused Community Support Manager to champion our unique partnership and drive positive change for colleagues and local communities. This is a pivotal role, co-managed by both organisations, requiring a dynamic individual who can connect business objectives to community impact.

You’ll be at the heart of our community engagement, building and fostering relationships between a diverse mix of stakeholders, supporting colleagues, developing local talent, and ensuring our initiatives deliver real value.

The core themes to the role are:

Partnership and Collaboration: You will be responsible for nurturing the relationship between GGT, Gloucester Services and our community partnerships. This will include organising regular GGT community partner meetings, connecting partners with the business, identifying opportunities such as events, visits, fundraising, displays, and innovating new ways for impactful collaboration as well as providing ongoing support to individual partners.

Employment and Skills: We are proud to say that 30% of our Gloucester Services colleagues are from the communities GGT works alongside, and providing inclusive employment opportunities to adults and career and skills development support to young people is a priority. This role will play a crucial part in the organisation and delivery of our Bridging the Gap (employment skills) and Limited Edition (entrepreneurial skills) programmes. You will also be responsible for promoting opportunities in our communities and through our networks, connecting local talent to the business’s People Team, and supporting careers activities for young people through local schools, Children and Family Centres and youth projects.

Community Producers: We support new community-based producers to develop their products. This role will connect to local food networks and by helping new micro producers, perhaps you will spot the next up and coming community food producer.

Colleague Connections: To ensure the team are aware of our unique partnership, you’ll welcome all Gloucester Services colleagues to the business by participating in the induction and organise a biannual GGT Community Day with new colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders. You’ll be ideally placed to support colleagues and the people team to access support and volunteering through our community partners and networks.

Planning and Innovation: With colleagues from Gloucestershire Gateway Trust and Westmorland Family you will lead the co-creation of a renewed Community Plan which will establish the objectives and actions of the role over the next 3 years. However, this role also requires an asset and strengths based approach to partnership work and we would expect innovation and agility to recognise and take advantage of opportunities presented by the business, community partners, and people as they arise.
