Forest of Dean Climate Action Partnership (FODCAP) Coordinator
Hybrid (min. 2 days in Forest of Dean District + remote)

ABOUT US
FODCAP is a growing partnership of communities, businesses, and organisations driving urgent and fair climate action across the Forest of Dean District. We connect, inspire, and enable effective climate initiatives toward building a net-zero and climate-resilient future.
Forest Voluntary Action Forum (FVAF), the HR host for this role, supports voluntary and community groups in the Forest of Dean. They provide advice, training, and resources to empower local organisations. Their community-led approach builds skills, resilience, and social capital to strengthen collective action across the district.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to take our climate partnership to the next level. You'll oversee our collaborative work across key focus areas for 2025: Youth & Climate, Travel, Food & Farming, and Energy.This pivotal role involves:
Leadership & Coordination:
- Providing strategic oversight to ensure cohesion across all FODCAP workstreams
- Serving as the primary contact and representative for the partnership
- Keeping the steering group informed and engaged in strategic decision-making
- Coordinating with freelancers and workstream leads across thematic areas
Partnership & Network Building:
- Cultivating relationships with local organisations, policymakers, and community stakeholders
- Facilitating collaboration and knowledge-sharing between different partners
- Acting as a bridge between grassroots climate action and policy advocacy
- Expanding the partnership's reach and impact across the district
Strategic Development:
- Strengthening FODCAP as a climate action leader in the Forest of Dean
- Identifying funding opportunities and developing proposals for long-term sustainability
- Working with the steering group to develop a cohesive membership plan
- Supporting the implementation of action plans for each thematic area
Advocacy & Communications:
- Developing and leading FODCAP's advocacy initiatives to influence local climate policies
- Creating a communications strategy to share impact stories and progress
- Representing FODCAP at relevant forums, events, and policy discussions
- Ensuring the partnership's voice is heard in regional climate conversations
About You
- A strategic thinker, with the ability to oversee complex projects with multiple stakeholder, you will have excellent project management and coordination skills. Our ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive knowledge of the Forest of Dean, including its communities, environmental challenges, and opportunities.
- Strong understanding of climate change policy, particularly in energy systems and decarbonisation.
- Proven experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy.
- Strong facilitation skills and experience in holding collaborative spaces and working with a wide diversity of people and partners.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive forward action.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
