The Role
We’re seeking a highly organised and motivated Business Operations Assistant to help keep our growing food charity running smoothly and efficiently.
As the central hub of our operations, you'll:
- Support programme delivery
- Coordinate volunteers
- Manage communications
- Keep behind-the-scenes systems functioning effectively
This role is ideal for someone proactive, friendly, and passionate about making a difference through great organisation and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the CEO in delivering Wiggly’s mission
- Manage the shared inbox and landline, triaging enquiries
- Coordinate cookery workshops and courses, including:
- Enrolments and participant matching
- Managing dietary requirements and waiting lists
- Creating and collecting evaluation forms
- Maintain accurate data and monitoring tools
- Collaborate with the Social Source team for seamless operations
- Lead volunteer coordination, onboarding, and communication
- Produce engaging content (photos, videos, stories) to showcase impact
- Design marketing materials using Canva (flyers, social media visuals)
- Keep the Wordpress website up to date with “What’s On” listings
- Coordinate IT procurement and in-kind donations
- Manage merchandise production and distribution
- Represent Wiggly at community events or networking opportunities
- Support community fundraising events and open days
- Build strong relationships with volunteers, participants, and partners
Essential Skills & Experience
- Excellent organisation and admin skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Friendly, approachable, and confident with a wide range of people
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Excel, and Canva
- Aligned with Wiggly’s values: inclusivity, collaboration, and professionalism
- Willingness to learn safeguarding best practices
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience in a charity or community setting
- Volunteer or project coordination experience
- Understanding of GDPR, data management, or impact evaluation
- Social media or digital marketing skills
