Head Cook – Churchdown Day Nursery
- Location: Churchdown, Gloucestershire
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Start date: Immediate

Churchdown Day Nursery is looking for a passionate and organised Head Cook to join our friendly team. This is a key role in ensuring that the children in our care enjoy healthy, balanced and freshly prepared meals every day.

Responsibilities:

• Planning and preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children in line with dietary needs and allergies.
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Managing food stock, ordering supplies, and working within a set budget.
• Creating varied and child-friendly menus.
• Working closely with nursery staff to support children’s health and well-being.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in catering or as a cook (experience in childcare or education settings is desirable but not essential).
• Knowledge of food hygiene and allergen management.
• Ability to plan and deliver balanced meals for children.
• A food hygiene certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Organised, reliable, and able to work independently.
