Nursery Practitioner (Lunch Cover – Level 3 Qualified)

We are looking for a Level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive team at our Barnwood site, providing lunch cover each day within our busy, caring nursery environment.
This is a permanent, part-time position, 15 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 11.15am – 2.15pm) ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and looking for a role that fits around school hours or other commitments. Please note - this is NOT a term time only position.
About the role:
You will support children and staff across the nursery during the lunchtime period, ensuring mealtimes run smoothly and that children are cared for in a calm, nurturing environment. You’ll also help to engage children in play and learning activities before and after lunch, contributing to the warm, family-feel atmosphere our nursery is proud of.
Key responsibilities:
- Support children’s care, learning and development in line with the EYFS.
- Supervise and assist during mealtimes, encouraging good manners and healthy choices.
- Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating environment at all times.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
Requirements:
- A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (essential). Please note unqualified candidates will not be contacted
- A good understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures.
- A kind, professional approach with a genuine love for working with young children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
