Rodborough Playgroup is a well-loved, not-for-profit charity that has been providing high-quality, inclusive childcare for over 50 years on the edge of the beautiful Rodborough Common in Stroud. We are looking for an exceptional Playleader to continue our vision, lead our dedicated team, and ensure every child is at the centre of their own learning journey.
As our Playleader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and strategic direction of the Playgroup. You will report to the voluntary Management Committee and will mentor and motivate the staff team, fostering a creative, fun, and nurturing environment, whilst ensuring the delivery of an outstanding, play-led curriculum that meets the individual needs of children aged 2.5 to 4 years. You will maintain the highest standards of child protection and welfare, acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and build and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents, the Management Committee, and the local schools
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent), with GCSE pass in Maths, at least 2 years' experience within an Early Years setting and an expert knowledge of the EYFS framework, Ofsted requirements, and robust safeguarding practices. You will have excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills and experience and/or training working with SEN children
