Mini VIP's Nursery & Daycare is a family run business in Winchcombe and we are looking for an enthusiastic, confident, dedicated and motivate Key Practitioner who wants to deliver the very best of care.
We are a very busy, friendly and happy nursery who aim to provide excellent childcare, for 3 month to 12 year olds, in a home away from home setting.

Key Person
Duties and Responsibilities
• The care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
• Work alongside parents/carers of children to provide full integration in the setting.
• To ensure the setting is of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development.
• Working with the Room Leader on planning and preparation of activities, to meet children’s individual needs, liaising with parents and negotiating working targets ensuring effective communication within the nursery.
• Keeping of development records and observations.
• Positive management of children's behaviour.
• Preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the playrooms and equipment.
• Keeping accident, incident and risk assessment records, ensuring identified hazards in the environment are reported appropriately.
• To be alert to issues of safeguarding children and child protection, ensuring that the welfare and safety of children attending the Nursery is promoted and safeguarded and to report any child safety/protection concerns to the DSL or Nursery Manager immediately using current safeguarding policies, procedures, and practice.
• Supervision of meals and mealtimes and where appropriate preparation of babies’ bottles.
• To promote a fun, high quality environment for the children aged from babies to pre-school.
• Ensuring that at all times the Welfare and Learning development requirements are met.
• Work in partnership with parents and carers
• Undertake a shared responsibility for health and safety throughout the nursery.
• Ensure the general cleanliness of the children at all times.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures relating to the nursery.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Attendance of staff meetings/training/parents/carers evenings, fund raising events, Christmas party, etc. outside of work hours as arranged by the management team.
• To be flexible within working practices of the setting. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the setting, e.g. preparation of snack, meals, cleansing of equipment and laundry/cleaning duties as and when required.
Qualifications and Skills
• Minimum NVQ level 2 or 3 within Childcare and Education, or relevant equivalent
• Previous experience with the under 5's is desirable, however not essential
• Experience of providing personal care to children and recognising their individual needs
• Experience of working in line with the curriculum framework and requirements and understanding of children’s development
• Work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the project is fulfilled.
• Look upon the setting as a "whole" where can your help be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of children.
• To be experienced to support the SENCO and assist in progressing child protection cases.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification within childcare and education
