Do you have a calm approach, practical skills and the ability to connect with people?

Wings 4 Growth is looking for Support Workers to help children and young people aged 4–25 engage with education, develop confidence and build independence.

Our learners follow bespoke curricula shaped around their needs, strengths and interests. We recognise that young people learn in different ways, and we create opportunities for them to experience success through education, relationships and practical activities.

This is an education and mentoring role. You do not need to be a teacher or have worked in a school. We welcome relevant skills from care, disability support, youth services, sport, community projects and other people-focused roles.

What you will do
• Build consistent, professional relationships with learners.
• Help young people participate in their individual learning programmes.
• Support practical activities, routines and everyday skills.
• Encourage communication, confidence and independence.
• Support learning through agreed community activities.
• Follow support plans and risk assessments.
• Record achievements and report concerns promptly.

Where you will work
Outreach team: Work with young people in their homes and the community. A driving licence, suitable car and motor insurance covering business use are required.
Centre-based team: Support our primary group or secondary team, with learning taking place at the centre and in the community.

We will consider your strengths and experience when matching you to responsibilities and learners.

What matters to us

You are dependable, patient and respectful. You can stay calm, maintain boundaries, follow agreed plans and recognise when to ask for support.

You must be willing to support educational goals, complete accurate records and undertake relevant training.

What we offer
• Pay above minimum wage because we value the work our staff do.
• A balanced working pattern of six hours a day during term time.
• Employer-paid DBS checks.
• Induction, safeguarding and role-specific training.
• Ongoing development and support from colleagues.
• Reimbursement of approved work mileage under our mileage policy.
