Miserden Estate has an exciting new opportunity for a skilled tradesperson to join the property maintenance team on the Estate.

The Role

Miserden Estate is looking for a qualified and experienced tradesperson to join an established property maintenance team to help deliver proactive repair and renovations works across the Estate’s property portfolio.

The Estate includes an extensive portfolio of residential, commercial, agricultural and heritage buildings that are maintained to a high standard. Miserden Estate also includes forestry, agriculture, gardens and visitor enterprises, all of which closely interact with the property maintenance team. The Estate operates with a ‘one-team’ ethos.

The role principally covers the maintenance of all properties and associated infrastructure owned by the Estate, which indicatively includes the following duties:

  • Carrying out routine property maintenance, repairs and improvements across the Estate properties
  • Undertaking general maintenance including carpentry, plumbing, decorating and general labour
  • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and helping complete both routine maintenance and longer-term property works
  • Complying with all health and safety, and compliance requirements
  • Maintenance and operation of the Estate’s Biomass District Heating Scheme
  • Maintenance of the Estate’s Private Water Supply

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of carpentry and/or plumbing experience alongside skills that apply to a range of property maintenance tasks
  • Experience in all aspects of property maintenance
  • Whilst not essential, it would be preferable if the candidate had experience with heritage properties or listed buildings
  • Good communication skills and a friendly approachable manner
  • A full driving licence

The property maintenance team will share an on-call function and will need to be flexible in their working hours to respond to urgent property matters.

All candidates would need to demonstrate that they can work flexibly as part of a small team but also have the initiative to work alone when required.
