Chalford

We are looking for a capable and proactive Operations & Customer Support Administrator to help run
our growing business, which designs and manufactures educational robotics products from our
workshop in Chalford.

This is a varied and hands-on role at the centre of a small, fast-moving team. You will play a key part
in keeping the business running smoothly day to day, supporting customers, coordinating orders, and
ensuring operations are well organised and efficient.

We are a small company, so this role suits someone who enjoys responsibility, variety, and being
trusted to get things done without needing constant direction.

This is a full-time, office/workshop-based role.

What you’ll be responsible for

You will take ownership of a range of operational and customer-facing activities, including:

Customer & Communication

  • Managing day-to-day customer enquiries and ensuring timely responses and updates
  • Building strong customer relationships and maintaining accurate records
  • Handling returns, warranties, and resolving customer issues


Orders & Sales Support

  • Preparing customer quotes and processing orders
  • Tracking orders through to fulfilment and ensuring a smooth customer experience
  • Supporting repeat business through customer follow-ups


Finance & Administration

  • Supporting bookkeeping activities including expense tracking and VAT-related administration
  • Assisting with credit control and managing outstanding payments
  • Maintaining accurate and well-organised business records


Logistics & Workshop Coordination

  • Coordinating deliveries and liaising with couriers and suppliers
  • Preparing, packing, and checking products before dispatch
  • Supporting quality control to ensure orders are accurate and complete
  • Helping maintain an organised and efficient workshop and office environment
  • Managing office supplies and consumables as needed


Systems & Business Support

  • Maintaining internal documentation and procedures
  • Supporting improvements to systems and processes as the business grows
  • Providing general operational and administrative support across the business
  • Taking ownership of tasks as priorities evolve

  • Clear and confident in communication with customers and colleagues
  • Comfortable working in a small business where priorities can change quickly
  • Interested in technology, education, or hands-on practical work


A note on the role
This is a varied role where some days will be focused on administration and customer support, while
others may be more operational and hands-on. Flexibility, common sense, and a willingness to get
involved wherever needed are essential.

You’ll be joining a small, hands-on team including assembly, sales, and operations staff, working
closely together in a practical workshop environment. We’re a growing company focused on building
useful, engaging products, rooted in strong ethical values.

Practical information

  • Location: Chalford (workshop-based, located in an upper-floor workshop in a historic mill building with stairs)
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
  • Probation: 6 months
