Fire & Flood Technician

We are an independent fire and flood restoration organisation with over 25 years industry experience, based in Gloucester. We work for some of the leading insurance companies and restoration networks in the UK providing restoration services to both domestic and commercial properties affected by escapes of water, flooding or fire damage.

We cover a geographical area of approximately two hours travel from our head office in Gloucester or satellite branch in South Wales.

The successful candidate will live within our geographical area but not necessarily in Gloucester as travel to and from work is included in the working day. A fully trained BDMA trained technician would be advantageous but full training will be provided with an aim of working towards BDMA qualification after 12 months. A full UK driving licence is required with no more than 3 points. The position is based upon a 40-hour working week with an on-call rota system once fully trained (98% of jobs are attended during normal working hours)

Key responsibilities:

*To inspect damaged properties and/or contents because of an unexpected fire, flood or escape of water.
*To liaise sympathetically with policy holders who have experienced this loss.
*To liaise with other external contractors confidently
*To compile a report of what works will be required to reinstate property to pre-loss condition.

The successful candidate must:

*Be a confident driver
*Be able to work by themselves.
*Be able to use their own initiative.
*Be able to remain calm and focused when working under pressure
*Have a confident telephone manner
*Have a flexible approach to the working week.
*Be physically fit.
*Have the ability to problem solve and deal with changing circumstances
*Complete an enhanced DBS check

Starting salary £27,750pa plus overtime for non BDMA technician. Pay rise on qualification to BDMA technician.

Starting salary £29,000pa plus overtime for BDMA technician.
