Who we are: Teckels is a small, independent charity nestled in the heart of Whitminster, Gloucestershire, but our impact reaches far beyond our size.
Our dedicated animal rescue and rehoming centre is committed to providing a safe haven for homeless cats and dogs, where they can receive the care and rehabilitation they need to find their forever homes.Since our establishment in 2003, we have had the privilege of supporting around 250 cats and 150 dogs each year.
As a small, independent charity, we are reliant on donations, grants and volunteers to operate.
What we’re looking for:We opened our first charity shop in Stroud town centre in November 2024 with all funds raised going to help care for the cats and dogs at our rescue centre.
You could volunteer on the shop floor, welcoming and chatting to customers, serving them on the till, and helping with their questions, as well as making sure the shop floor is well stocked and looking its best. This role is ideal for someone who likes meeting new people and having a chat. As you will be on the shop floor, good communication skills and a friendly manner is essential. Some customer service experience and experience using a till and taking payments would be preferred, but training will be provided.
If you prefer a back of shop role, this could be helping with sorting and preparing donations, researching donated items, creating displays and making sure the shop and stock room are clean and tidy. This could be the role for you if you are organised with an eye for detail.
When you can help:Our shop is open 9am-5pm Tuesday-Saturday. Volunteers usually offer a morning or afternoon, but you are welcome to stay for the whole day. We can be flexible with times, so do get in touch if you would like to discuss a different shift pattern.
